We confess that the reason and purpose for human existence is to glorify the name of our
Creator. In order to fulfill our purpose, then, our hope and vision is to:
Grow in Christ – The Bible clearly tells us in 2 Peter 3:18 to “…grow in the grace and
knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ…to him be glory now and forever!”
We must grow, both in quantity and quality, in order to glorify God through our existence.
Become lay servant-leaders – We are made in God’s image, and Jesus is God Himself come
down in human form. Therefore, following Jesus Christ as the model of the Perfect Man,
we strive to become, as He was, servant-leaders; we strive to lead by serving and serve by
leading in different areas of His ministry, for “each one should use whatever gift he has
received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.”
(1 Peter 4:10)
Embrace and change the world – Being Christian, we must have an outlook that
encompasses the entire world. Being an international congregation, our involvement with
the world is even greater. We cannot stand divided by political barriers or ethnic differences.
We will not let economic or social differences separate us. Acts chapter 8 tells us how God,
through Philip, brings the gospel to an Ethiopian eunuch. Like Philip, we have the mission to
embrace and change the world—the entire world.
Most importantly, in doing all these things, we must remember one fact—we are doing it all
for the glory of God!
Soli Deo Gloria! |
